New Hildegard Study Days online — in a new form

The collaboration with the International Chant Academy in the USA continues: from 14 October to 18 November 2026 Marsja teaches six online study days on the music of Hildegard von Bingen. This autumn series takes a new form.

We work intensively with three chants, each one more challenging than the previous, approaching every chant from two directions. The A-sessions start from the manuscript: learning to read Hufnagel notation and to make it sound in the voice. The B-sessions explore the same chant in an interdisciplinary way, through language, imagery, musical gesture, modality, theology and the structure of the text. You can follow one track, one complete chant (A+B), or the entire series of six sessions.

Sessions are live via Zoom, with a maximum of four active participants each, plus additional auditor seats. Ideal for those who are unable to reach the Hildegard Study Days near ’s-Hertogenbosch due to distance or time constraints.
